Refunds & Cancellation

Effective 11 August 2026. Written by the operator, not by a lawyer, and it is the policy Firstrung actually follows. Firstrung is a trading name used by Chris Ellington, who runs it as an individual from Fredericksburg, Virginia. If a line here reads as unclear or unfair to you, email hello@getfirstrung.com and it will be looked at.

The starter build ($299, one time)

Before build work starts: cancel for a full refund, sent within 5 business days of your request, back to the card that paid. Your bank can take up to 10 days after that to show it.

After build work starts, before launch: we may keep a pro-rated amount for work already done, worked out as the build fee multiplied by the share of your agreed pages already drafted, with any fraction rounded in your favor. Nothing drafted yet means you get everything back. The rest is refunded within 5 business days.

After you approve the site and it launches: the build is delivered and is non-refundable, except as the law requires or as we expressly agree in writing. You also get a review round before launch: you see the real site, and if it is not right you tell us and we sort it out before anything goes live.

The care plan ($39/mo, optional)

Cancel any time, effective at the end of the paid month. No cancellation fee, no phone call, no retention script: email us or use the link on your receipt. Months already paid are not refunded pro-rata, because the month's care window was reserved for you, but if you cancel within 5 days of a renewal charge and no care work has happened that month, we refund that charge in full.

What never changes

The site and the domain are yours in your own accounts whether or not you stay. Cancelling the care plan does not take your website down and never will.
